From its headquarters in Earth City, Missouri, Tri-National, Inc., provides clients throughout North America and Mexico with transportation services that focus on reliability and safety. A member of the Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT) program, Tri-National, Inc., benefits from the government partnership.

For importers, C-TPAT certification results in placement of cargo in a preferred category, due to a lower risk value. As such, the shipment is processed more quickly, improving the speed of bringing the cargo to market while also cutting down on customs-related fees. Further, importers gain access to the Free and Secure Trade (FAST) lanes, which offer expedited transport between the borders of Mexico, the United States, and Canada.

In the event of a terrorist attack or national emergency, cargo from C-TPAT suppliers is given priority once shipments resume.

External benefits include improved relationships with clients, as many require transportation companies that maintain the certification. The supply chain is also made more stable, offering increased predictability that is reflected in provision of better services to clients.
